American Radio Relay League's Amateur Radio Emergency Service

Jim Montgomery WB3KAS Maryland/Washington, DC Section Emergency Coordinator

The presentation will center around the American Radio Relay League's Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) and its role in providing communications support to local government and community agencies in the Maryland - DC Section.  It will touch on the structure of ARES, how it works and the requirements to join the organization.  The main talk will be on how to achieve Interoperability among the Maryland - DC Section and ways for the DC ham community to access the Internet when no Internet is available to them. It's a neat trick!

If time permits, we will discuss the Prince George's County ARES Hospital EmComm Program.
