The BaoFeng uv-3r is a $40 handheld multi-band SDR that is very hack-able.  Hax has been investigating some of the interesting firmware and hardware mods possible and is going to show us what he has learned so far.

We set up the ham cart laptop with software for rig control, digital modes, logging and remote access.   We'll demonstrate some of the features and hopefully get people started using it.
