Introduction to programming in Lua for leets and noobs

This workshop is very hands-on and intends to satisfy two distinct yet sometimes overlapping groups of people:

  • those who have never programmed before, and
  • those who know a lot about programming but little about lua

How can we keep both leets and noobs happy at the same time you may ask?

By doing things radically differently from regular programming courses;

  • hands-on from the start
  • useful code snippets
  • learn at your own pace
  • help your fellow participants
  • "learning by firehose", we will pellet you and see what sticks.

Lua might be the ideal entry point for new programmers as it is a tiny, elegant and svelte language, while still being similar to the more popular Python, Ruby and Perl.

Lua might be the ideal entry point for seasoned / disillusioned / embedded programmers who want to change their perceptions, instrument their code or just learn something new and useful.

Please bring your own laptop, if possible. Registration is not required.

    Great workshop, it was fun and just easy and hard enough to follow along! (And I'm really impressed what an awesome teacher Kacper is.)
