We are setting up a small mesh network based on a customized OpenWrt firmware, which includes the meshing protocol Batman-adv. We are using the OpenWrt Repo to play with different setups and hardware (5ghz and 2,4ghz wifi). This is also a good opportunity for everybody to explore the powerful capabilities of OpenWrt in general (e.g. load balancing in server clusters).
People who are interested in founding a freifunk-like mesh network for Oslo are highly welcome to join. First steps towards a customized Oslo OpenWrt firmware could be taken here.
We will supply 3 mesh nodes that your devices can mesh with.
It would be nice to have a variety of OpenWrt compatible devices. If a sponsor would provide a set of routers they could be used and configured as an Hackeriet event or conference mesh for future use.
Join the mesh!
