DataSF Hackathon with Hacks/Hackers and The Bay Citizen

PLEASE RSVP at http://datasfcodeathon.eventbrite.com/

Journalism + tech + public data.

The Bay Citizen and Hacks/Hackers are hosting a 24-hour codeathon focused on pulling info from DataSF.org and building useful things with it. We're looking for new ways to share info about our city through visualizations, storytelling and creative use of public information. The event brings together journos and developers to play with data, meet talented people, and a chance to publish their work at The Bay Citizen.

Event Overview

The event starts Saturday, July 16 with introductions and an overview of San Francisco's public data offerings through DataSF.org. Following the talks, attendees can pitch ideas and form teams for building their apps.Attendees will spend the rest of the weekend working on their ideas and will also have the opportunity to attend mini-workshops on useful data-wrangling tools like Google Refine and Google Fusion during the day on Saturday. We'll wrap up Sunday afternoon with demo presentations, judging and awards.

I like the valuable info you provide in your articles. I’ll bookmark your weblog and check again here regularly. I’m quite sure I’ll learn many new stuff right here! Good luck for the next! http://verchini.com/that-lung

Thanks for the facilitating this event. I have been able to share the events, activity and assist with measurable solutions of impact for the last six months.

The only disappointment is the lack of follow up from group leaders and organizers. It was mentioned by some that the motive may have not been genuine...I am just sharing the feedback and results of independent surveys.

looking forward to the event. I'll probably tackle the survey data. btw, my company Allegiance, which builds voice of customer platforms and their analytics is hiring a PM who specializes in analytics, data mining and data visualization. Know of anyone looking? preferred in the Austin or Salt Lake area, but we're open to telecommuting http://www.allegiance.com/compa...

I believe a friend has RSVP'd at Eventbrite. Does he also need to RSVP here, at Meetup.com? Thanks.
