Matt,

It would be very helpful if the announcement mentioned the date and time of the meeting.  Also, although I now know where Globe headquarters is, some people may not.  So it might also be a good idea to provide the address.

Who is talking about what: Two Boston.com experts -- Jon Goldberg and Adrienne Lavidor-Berman -- will discuss best uses of search engine optimization (SEO) and using social media platforms effectively.

* Jon Goldberg will discuss the importance of headlines/title tags, Google’s newly introduced Standout tag (for better positioning on Google News), Authorship, the dangers of duplicate content/how to avoid it, & using the language/keywords of your audience.

He was a history major at Tufts, worked for several years as an editorial assistant for a textbook publisher, got a masters in Library Science, worked in financial services doing business development research for 5 years and most recently has been doing SEO for the past 4.5 years, first at a start-up content website called Helium.com and at the Globe for the last year and a half. In addition to SEO, Goldberg was the product manager for the Your Town & Your Campus sections of Boston.com.

Adrienne Lavidor-Berman believes Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms should be both useful – and interesting – and one of her goals is to help people achieve those goals.

She is the social media producer at Boston.com and The Boston Globe.  She helps journalists use social media tools to help with their reporting.  She also manages Boston.com and The Boston Globe’s main social media accounts.

Bring plenty of questions!

Parking/transportation: Plenty of parking in front and beside the Globe. A 5-7 minute walk from the Red Line's JFK/UMass stop.

Free refreshments: The Globe's famous cookies & coffee.
