November Hadoop users meetup

  • November 17, 2011 · 6:30 PM

Our November meetup is going to be hosted by Forward in their offices up in Camden. We've got three talks over the evening along with Pizza and Beer thanks to Arista Networks.

 - Hadoop at Forward (Tom Hall)

 - How to scale networking with Hadoop (Arista Networks)

 - How and why Stumble Upon built their infrastructure off of Hadoop and HBase (Benoit SigoureStumble Upon)

The talks will start just after 6:30pm and we've only got limited spaces so please rsvp on the event.

As usual there will be chance for discussion before and after the talks, and depending how long we can stay at the Forward office we may head to a local pub later on.

It was really great, as a beginner I got to meet with some excellent innovative thinkers. It was inspiring to see the different applications and live implementations of Hadoop.
Will be eagerly looking on for a hands onsessions.

It was nice to know about Forward and what they do and how Hadoop is helping them. The rest of the session was more of an advertising of Arista products rather than much to do with Hadoop in particular. Still on the whole it was a nice evening. Thanks to Arista for the pizzas and Forward for the beer! And a big thanks to Dan!
