Large-scale distributed systems like MapReduce is notoriously hard to verify & debug. An effective approach to address many of these challenges is through simulation. In this talk, I am going to present Mumak, a MapReduce simulator, including its design and implementation, early experience how it is useful, and point out some future work.

Robert BergerFirst speaker was not interesting to me and it was hard to hear him. The others were pretty interesting to me.

Raj-Mumak talk was good. It ptobably deserved all the time. However he kept the microphone on one side and if he turned his head, the microphone effect was gone. - CLoudera was professional and well done. - Missed the IDE lecture - Food was OK Liked what I heard.

Great presentations, need more like today's. Nice job, Dekel!
Karmasphere's product blew me away, was fantastic and deep.
Not so sure about Hong and co's simulator, I suppose we can use it to test new schedulers.
Cloudera's presentation well done, but the Desktop Platform still has a way to go.
