  • No need to book a tour. The best way to do it is go and stay at hostels (10 to 12 euros), hotels (20 to 25 euros) and campgrounds (6 to 10 euros), and you'll meet plenty of people. I also have some tips on Greek island hopping on my travel blog:

Feel free to send me an e-mail through my blog if you have any questions. I'll be here in Greece for another month...

  • Hi Laura! Greece is easy to get around and I'm sure you'll have fun. If you want, you can go to a San Francisco World Traveller (SFWT) meet-up. It's amazing all the places people have gone and are from. It's also casual but organize. I agree with Abigail, but if you feel like you need more to put your mind at ease check em' out... http://www.meetup.com/sanfrancisco-wo...

Enjoy and have fun on your trip!

  • You don't need to do a travel group to do Greece. I've been several times & to many islands/places--its super easy to navigate & very tourist friendly (especially in the islands). If you are going solo you'll meet tons of people, too... The only reason to do a group is if you don't want to deal with logistics or booking hotels, or its more cost efficient vs hotels on your own... But its easy to handle, and if you are traveling with a friend FOR SURE skip the group. Have fun!
