About the Job
 
With over 1 billion page views per month, 150+ million searches per month, $314 million in sales in Our Client's marketplace in 2010 (and growing in 2011), and 1.3 million Twitter followers, they have plenty of data to explore, and nearly infinite analytics opportunities.  The Director of Engineering, Analytics will leverage terabytes of data each month and work closely with engineering, product, and business teams to measure, analyze, and understand our client's data. This person will also evangelize data analysis within our client via regular tech talks and hallway conversations. Data is fun.
 
About You
 
Our Client is seeking an Analytics Director with:

• Hands-on experience leading and managing multiple small, high-performance engineering teams
• An enormous love of data
• Extensive knowledge of technologies like Hadoop, HDFS, Pig, and Hive
• Deep statistical intuition, and experience with standard statistical modeling packages such as R or Matlab
• Expert-level understanding of SQL, OLAP and multidimensional query languages and building/running multi-terabyte data stores
• Strong practical knowledge of core data structures and algorithms
• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent experience
