Hear New Creole Poetry at the Regulator Bookstore!

Duke Professor Jacques Pierre (a great friend of HaitiHub!) has just published his first book of Creole poetry: "Omega".

Come celebrate the book launch and hear Jacques give spirited readings of his poems that touch on themes of love, politics, nature, and the environment. Many of his poems are built around Haitian proverbs and celebrate the richness of the language.

At the Regulator Bookstore in Downtown Durham, Jacques will read a selection of poems, discuss translations, and talk about his motivations and process in crafting this work in his first language – Creole.

Following the reading there will be time for Q&A and book signing. Copies of “Omega” will be available for purchase. $11. Cash only.

Come out to celebrate this accomplishment (15 years in the making!), hear live Creole poetry, and support Jacques! It's going to be an awesome time!
