New Event: Historical Walking Tour & Pumpkin Picking

New York, NY
Announcing a new event for The New York Halloween Meetup Group!

What: Historical Walking Tour & Pumpkin Picking

When: Saturday, October 13, 1:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: Join us as well as another group on a walking tour of NYC's living history village and museum complex at historic Richmond Town and then pick a pumpkin at the city's last private working farm.

100 acre Richmond Town is a charming and quaint village showcasing the diversity of the American experience from Colonial days to the present. The village features 15 fully restored and furnished buildings including homes, businesses, and civic facilities as well as a museum. This historic town is not a frozen moment in time as other villages you may have visited. Instead, it creates a journey through olden days so that we can witness the evolution of the town, its people, and its structures. To see a map of the village as well as obtain additional info: http://www.historicri...

The story of the Decker Farm began in 1809 when Japhet and Sarah Alston mortgaged the 11-acre property for $1,000 and began building the farmhouse that still stands today. Spanning 11 acres, the property holds 11 structures including the circa 1810 farm house and several turn-of-the-century barns and provides pumpkin picking and hay rides
during October. The Decker Farm is also the site of two collaborative farm projects: the Council on the Environment of New York City's Greenmarket Initiative and the New Farmer Development Program. For additional info:
