Artcrawl Houston

The cluster of artist warehouses located north of downtown open their doors.  The mission of this open house is to promote the understanding of contemporary art by directly involving the visitors in a dialogue with local artists.

We will not be participating in the Fotofest Bike Scramble.

Although this open house is called a crawl, this is not a drinking event.

Let's gather in the lobby of the Dakota Lofts (look for the green tiara).

If you are planning to attend the Artcrawl, but do not intend to join the group, please do not rsvp yes to this event.  It falsely enlarges the number of attendees and jeopardizes your membership with the group.

Admission is free.  Even though there is a ticket symbol on their website, no tickets are required.

I would recommend either printing a hard copy of the ARTCRAWL MAP and bringing it with you or downloading the free artcrawl app.

Please be prepared for extreme walking.  As some of these buildings are historic structures, they may not be handicap accessible.

University of Houston Downtown is donating free parking.  Please see the PARKING MAP for locations.  There is also very limited free street parking and metered street parking in this area.

For GPS users and New-In-Town members, this neighborhood is extremely challenging to get to and to navigate around.  GPS are not accurate in this area so do not rely completely on these.  This is a historic neighborhood, and the streets are not in a typical grid pattern.  Some streets are segmented meaning there are sections of the same street which do not connect.  Please allow plenty of time to locate parking and to join us.

Wow, what an opportunity to take the pulse of the Houston art scene. Very exciting exhabits. Chance to meet and talk with the arts. Go next year if you missed it this year.
