Houston Grand Opera - Sondheim's A Little Night Music

A weekend in the country is delightful - when it's planned.

"Send in the Clowns" and elegant waltzes drive this bittersweet story-the winner of six Tony awards including best musical, book, and score.

Old flames are rekindled and new affairs ignite in this farce about famous actress Desiree Armfeldt and her weekend guests: an ex-lover, Fredrik, his much-younger bride, and his son-a divinity student. When Desiree's current paramour arrives unannounced, the stage is set for grownup comedy.

Sung in English.

Tickets and seating are on your own.

Pre-curtain lectures are held 45 minutes before each performance on the Orchestra Level of the theater.  These 20-minutes presentations are free and open to all ticket holders.

Out of consideration for other patrons and for the performers, there is no late seating.

I will be at the top of the escalator to the left from 7:30PM to 7:40PM (wearing white/black striped blouse and black pants).  Please come and say hello.

Downtown offers free metered street parking after 6:00PM on Saturday (do not park by the red ones).  Parking in the Theater District Parking Garage is $7.00 on Saturday.  Clearance for trucks and vans is 6’8”.

For anyone interested in having dinner before the performance, let's gather in the lobby of the Post Rice Lofts building at 6:15PM.  It is located at 909 Texas in between Travis and Main Streets.  I will be in the seating area on the left.  We will leave for dinner at 6:30PM.

Sorry I got to the Theater too late to say hi to most of you. Not my favorite, but it was fun to hear "Send in the Clowns". Never knew it was from this musical.
