Let's gather by the steps near the picnic table area in between the picnic table area and the theater (look for the red balloons). Please consider this area will look different when it is getting dark and when there are crowds of people. The picnic table area is on the left side of the theater as you are looking at the stage.
If you are planning to attend the performance, but do not intend to join the group, please do not rsvp yes to this event. It falsely enlarges the number of attendees and jeopardizes your membership with the group.
We will be sitting in the bring-your-own-chair section on a grassy hill. Please bring a camping chair or blanket/beach towel to sit on. It is also suggested to bring your own snacks and beverages as well as bug spray. No glass containers allowed. (This is a city park policy ... no one will look.)
Admission is free. Tickets are not required to sit on the hill.
Concessions and public restrooms are available.
Due to construction of the McGovern Gardens, the main parking lot in that area has been relocated. On the Hermann Park map, the parking lot is designated by the letter C. Follow the red and white parking banners. The parking lot entrances are at Hermann and Crawford as well as Hermann and Jackson. There is also complimentary surface lot parking available at the HMNS Main Entrance and the Houston Zoo Main Entrance. Complimentary street parking is available around Hermann Park. Limited handicapped only parking is available in Parking Lot D behind the theater.
For GPS users, please consider even though the theater has a street address, it is located in the center of a public park. Therefore, the parking areas are not directly adjacent to the theater. In order to avoid any stress with finding an unfamiliar location at night, please review the map of Hermann Park and allow plenty of time to arrive at the theater.
