Houston Grand Opera - Puccini's La bohème

The romance of Paris.  The pain of regret.  Rodolfo and Mimì meet by chance in the poet's atelier and fall immediately in love.  They weather break-ups and reunions, but their love proves as fragile as the light of a single candle when they confront the harsh realities of their bohemian life.

Sung in Italian with projected English translation.

Tickets and seating are on your own.

Pre-curtain lectures are held 45 minutes before each performance on the Orchestra Level of the theater.  These 20-minute presentations
are free and open to all ticket holders.

Out of consideration for other patrons and for the performers, there is
no late seating.

I will be at the top of the escalator to the left from 7:00PM to 7:10PM (look for the meetup lapel pin).  Please come and say hello.

Downtown offers free metered street parking after 6:00PM on Saturday (do not use the red ones).  Parking in the Theater District Parking Garage is $7.00 on Saturday.  Clearance for trucks and vans is 6’8”.

*** PRE-SHOW DINNER ***

For anyone interested in having dinner before the performance, let's gather in the lobby of the Post Rice Lofts building at 5:45PM.  It is located at 909 Texas in between Travis and Main Streets.  I will be in the seating area on the left.  We will leave for dinner at 6:00PM.

The amount of people attending will factor on restaurant choice.  The larger the group the more casual a place we will need to go to in order to get in on a Saturday night.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
