Open Streets Hamilton

Given the feedback, I have decided to submit an application to participate in Open Streets Hamilton. All planning will be done through this event, so if you are interested in helping out, please RSVP Yes. I will post suggested pamphlets etc to the events discussion board. Please, please come out, even if you can't make it the whole day. Many hands make light work!

Our reception was overall very good. No one was mad, although a few snide remarks were thrown our way. Most people were extremely pleased to see us.

Nice to get out on a warm summers day. Great to meet others of the group I'd never met before. Important to get our thoughts out there to people on the streets of Hamilton who were unaware of our existence. Huge Thanks to Diana who did most of the Org Work, Hope to se you all Thursday at Chesters.

Open Streets is where they close James Street North to traffic and allow pedestrians to take over. Community groups are invited to set up info booths and activities along the way.

I just received the confirmation for our table at Open Streets. I have also put in the order for 100 1-inch Darwin fish buttons and they will arrive mid-next week. I will send you guys some links to the pamphlets I'm thinking of printing and you can vote on which you want. I'll also be making us a sign. I think we'll need someone to bring a table. Any takers?

First order of business, I was thinking we could give away buttons for a small donation to try to cover costs and to have something to give away. What would people prefer; A Darwin fish, "Beyond Belief", the secular humanist symbol, Flying Spaghetti Monster, or the invisible pink unicorn? I would need to put in the order by tomorrow if we have any hopes of getting them printed in time.

I didn't check my calendar properly and had in my mind that this was Saturday. The boys have hockey on Sundays. I'll see if hubby can drop me off at the event and take the boys to hockey. I'll let you know, Diana.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
