Come and join Mike Street at the annual open house for raptor watching at Beamer Memorial Conservation Authority. This annual event has taken place for the past 24 years. Bring binoculars. By day’s end, birders will probably have sighted up to 2,000 birds. There will also be live bird presentations. Contact: Mike Street (905)[masked]

I really enjoyed myself but I think it could have been a bit better organized for the amount of photographers that were there. People were walking in front of you, and I was constantly having to ask people to move.

Hi, I just call Mike Street to get the low down on this event. The Open House starts at 10am and goes till 3pm. The park hours are 8am-6pm.

Here is a link There is an itinerary on the link for the open house and there are directions on the drop down- More about Beamer (on the left hand side) then scroll down to the bottom of the page there is a map. We are allowed to bring food in, they also have a food truck that will be there, proceeds go to the Conservatory.

Mike advised that weather will be a big indicator on the numbers of birds flying by along with how high or low they will be flying. There will be a live bird demonstration @1pm where the birds will be tethered to somebody from the conservatory. Looking forward to sleeping in a little bit longer now :) Looking forward to seeing you guys out there! Cheers! ~KW
