RAIN OR HIGH LIKELIHOOD OF RAIN CANCELS

This is not a beginner ride - you must have substantial experience riding in traffic and on lots of hills to do the ride, the Morgan Territoy climb is an 8 miile climb, the Mt. Diablo climb is an 11 mile climb. We will do  *some* waiting at re-group points, but please be able to sustain the advertised pace and have plenty of climbing experience. On the climb and descent, I suggest that people ride their own pace, and we will wait a reasonable time for re-groups at the tops and bottoms of climbs.

If you need a route sheet, please pring your own and brling it. Route can be found here(note rwgps routinely overstates climbing by 20-30%):

http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2223291

I have updated the route sheet with regroups, we will have a group of riders from WAV joining us as well. Please review the route sheets -- I will bring enough for everyone in a "friendly format" (not the rwgps standard format). We will ride as a group up to mile 12.9 the Morgan Territory turn off, then the asecnding/descending starts at which point everyone needs to ride at their pace, however, we will regroup at all the regroup spots on the route sheet. This is a fairly way out of town ride and I want to make sure we are all good and accounted for. As far as restroom / water stops there is restoom and water at miles 22.4, 48,2, 52.6, 57.1. The visitor center at 48.2 has very limited snacks so plan your hydration and fuel accordingly.

As usual helmets are required, as well as any hydration and nutrition you may need for the ride.

Also, I know some of you like taking the train up to Martinez, if you want to do that that is fine, but make sure you are at the ride start at the advertised time.

I really enjoyed the ride today and the great company. I have done Diablo several times, but not Morgan Territory. Thanks Javier for host this ride, and on two weekends to allow the maximal participation.

Jav, many bonus point for the rename. I want to be on THIS ride!! ;) I realized that the no fluffy puppies was a bit off. It really should be "sweaty old men" ride. Well, except of the young bucks who will administer maximal pain to the sweaty old men. Oh, it's "Kinder", not "kindler" (no "ell"). Grammar police will bust you 1/2 up Diablo.

Excuse me? You don't like puppies ? I am gonna tell your kids.

      1 · March 19

    • Scott Taggart

That was ambiguous, wasn't it. No puppies on rides. Puppies underfoot are OK ;)

All, Scott has added a new ride, same start place, same start time but it will be at "Taggart" pace meaning a much more aggressive average and fewer / shorter regroups. This also means you have the option of starting out with his group if you want and waiting for mine if it ends up being to much -- his ride is here: http://www.hammerinwheels.com/e...

All ..me (and since they're in car with me -- Shon, Joanne & Ben) will be hitting the Mountain Mikes pizza around'ish the block from the ride start after the ride -- what we usually do is figure out who want's in then order a varierty of pizzas (e.g. large combo / large veggie + breadsticks) and split the cost -- everyone orders whatever they want to drink on their own. That being said we'll take a "head count" of who wants in at the ride start to figure out how many pizzas to order. The Mountain Mikes is here in relation to the ride start: http://goo.gl/maps/IhH34 ..I may change the ride start to this parking lot after we check it out on the 16th ride...haven't been to this lot yet, the one we are starting at is pretty big and open (as in looks pretty safe to leave cars there while we're riding).
