C-40 Newcastle Deli Social Paced Ride

Terrain: Roads, some with no bike lanes
Distance: 40 Miles
Elevation Gain: Aprox 1700 feet
Speed: 12-14 MPH average
Rider Level: Intermediate Begginer+
Sweep: Yes at 12-14 MPH

7:45am meetup for a 8:00am rollout

RAIN OR HIGH LIKELIHOOD OF RAIN CANCELS

This will be a social paced out'n back from Raley's in Roseville (on the corner of Woodcreek Oaks Blvd and Pleasant Grove) to Newcastle Deli for a tasty mid ride snack (or lunch).

NOTE: You need to be comfortable riding in traffic as most of the route will be on regular roads, some with a decent amount of traffic.

This ride is not intended to be a hammerfest, if you want to join in and hammer the route, that's fine but you will be waiting at the regroups longer ...I will be sweeping the route to make sure no one gets left behind or lost.

Meet at north-east corner of the Raley's parking lot, opposite side from Starbucks closest to the road -- the area highlighted in red here:

Bring whatever water and nutririon you need for the ride as well as flat tire repair stuff.

HELMETS REQUIRED!!!

If you need a route sheet, please print one and bring it with you. Route sheet can be found here:

(note that RWGPS routinely overstates elevation gain 20-30%)

Nice job Javier. Sounds like a pay dock is in order. May pay = $0.0

Sorry I had to leave the ride early. I got a phone call that my wife had gotten ill on her bike ride and that she needed me to come pick her up. All seems ok right now.

Great time! Bummer my bike was acting up towards the end of the ride. Wind made it a fun leg kicker!

    • Javier A.

So it's closed to? ....yea that was the issue with midas was closed, we were able to "hike a bike" thorough it, might have to today to I guess???

When I rode it yesterday, you could hike across at Rocklin Rd, but I went down to Farron St which is the light by the post office and crossed then rode back and caught Midas. Added some mileage but not much.

OK ..new route poste up going around the jacked up RxR crossing

    May 17, 2013

    • Jeff S.

Can we add Ridge Road, Chili Hill, Baxter Grade, Bald Hill and then head up to Dutch Flat? Its only another 97 miles with 14,275 feet of gain.

      :-P

      May 17, 2013

  • Javier A.

All, I rode this same route last night and the RxR crossing at Midas (aprox mile 32) is completely torn up and you have to "hike-a-bike" across it, so I will have to adjust that part of the ride, will try to get the route redone and posted ASAP.
