C55 - Tour de Rocklin Metric Training Series #4

Distance: 55mi
Climbing: ~3,000 ft
Pace: 15mph average.  Faster on flats, slower on climbs
Sweep: No, but designated regroups and one rest stop

7:45 meetup.  8:00am sharp roll out.

Many people have asked me to repeat the Tour de Rocklin training series I did last year, so here it is!  This is the fourth ride of four that will lead up to the TdR Metric Century ride on October 12th.  These rides will include parts of the TdR Metric and give you a similar feel, without actually doing the TdR route itself.  These are designed a moderate pace, social rides with a 14-16mph average.  If you feel you cannot handle this pace, you may still ride, but understand this is NOT swept below the stated pace, so bring a route sheet.  We will have a number of regroup points and a rest stop for people to catch up.  Likewise, if you wish to join and hammer above the stated pace, that is also okay; but you may be waiting longer at regroups.  Regroups will be 3-5 minutes each.  Rest stop at is longer (~15-20min).

Route Map: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/3386338

Please print your own route sheet if you think you need one!  Especially since this is not a fully swept ride, it is vital you carry a route sheet if you don't know theses areas.  We have had people take wrongs turns in the past and we don't want you to get lost!

Standard disclaimer: helmets required, bring food & water, cash, and repair stuff to be self-sufficient.  You should be comfortable riding roads with auto traffic and some with little to no shoulder/bike path.

While there will be a short break after the TdR, I will be posting more rides going into the Fall & Winter. I am finishing up my new double century training plan, and so there will be plenty of "base miles" type rides on the weekends. Probably amping up the distance [masked]mi) but keeping it very comfortable pace. Of course when my new bike arrives, I expect it to make me at least 5mph faster! :)

Love Bryan's rides and also the riders that always come to his rides. Too bad though that as the TDR training rides passed how slower riders stopped coming. They really shouldn't, Bryan or I really do ride the stated pace, sweep and wait at assigned re-groups and rest stops. Don't worry about the faster riders, they can take care of themselves and know they are riding beyond the stated pace.

Yes, agree! We like Bryan's rides and hope he will post more rides after TDL. Thank you, Mike for riding the stated pace and "sweeping" us.

Hey now, I ride and sweep the stated pace on my "kallie" rides, the "brisk" rides I post are of course a different story, but regardless I stick to my stated paces

Just a reminder, we only advertise for paid sponsors here. We should also not be starting rides at existing sponsor competitors. Can we please update the start location. Thanks in advance!

One other reminder, if you are planning on riding the actual Tour de Rocklin on Oct 12th, tomorrow is the last day of regular registration. After that, the late fees kick in. Save some $$ and reg now.
