F-30 - Old Sac to Davis

Join me for a casual ride, intended to be a light workout while also a chance to enjoy good company and scenery. Natural regroups throughout. Assuming a smaller group at best, I'd like to stick together as best as possible. It's a group ride.

This route is flat. The pace naturally will be a bit slower on city surface streets and somewhat faster on the causeway bike path. I'm aiming for a 15/16-ish average, which is just fast enough (perhaps 17-18 on the open flats, flexible). Definitely not a hammerfest and no strava trophies here, but expect steady pedaling. Winds can be variable.

The destination is coffee in Davis (perhaps Mishkas on 2nd St) for 30 to 60 minutes. The Davis Farmer's Market is an option, too (3rd and B St). As long as I get coffee somewhere, no me importa. Then a quick loop of the UC Davis campus for nostalgic purposes and back the way we came. Bring a bike lock.

I'll be riding in from Arena and I-5 (departing Starbucks at 7:45), which adds about 7 miles and 30 minutes each way. If you'd like to ride in with me, let me know.

If you arrive early, check out the mini donut shop in Old Sac on 2nd Street. They open at 8. A great pre-ride boost.

curt, rosie, steve nice meeting you guys, and holt and Mariah, always a pleasure. the causeway isn't very scenic, but we saw scenic things in w. sac for sure. Thanks for the company and letting me pretend to be young again, at least for one day. maybe we should do a ride to Sudwerks and call it the "booze cruise" j/k have a good weekend!

Mariah said there is a wine tasting ride in Lodi coming up. I may check it out. Admittedly though, I'm more of a beer guy

Yeah, saw that. I don't have the will power for a hard ride on sat, and can't make Brian's ride on Sun. So I'll "settle" for mini donuts and coffee from the People's Republic of Davis
