Gus, I did a bit of a brain dump to my web page. I hope it helps a bit. May be a bit too random! :) http://www.lewisfamil...

Great job Bryan. You averaged 18mph on your rolling time! I remember when you used to ride as slow as me. I think your training plan was a well thought out build up to that distance.

One of my favorite easy Doubles. Very nice maps, set-ups and after ride dinner. And so many great riders to gab and ride with!!

Have a great ride guys! Keep the rubber side down, wear your sunscreen, hydrate, blah blah blah. Hope you do have fun on this odyssey! Will want to hear about it.

curious when everyone plans to start the ride on Solvang. They have start windows the first one seems the most realistic but the 5am start is for those who feel they will need longer than 15 hours to finish. Although I'm not in as great of shape as years past I 'm guessing I may still be quicker than 15 hours. Probably closer to 14.5 hours total time. I will be riding alone as Tracy has been hampered by some foot problems and time restraints so we feel we'll be waiting until Hemet to ride Tandem on a double.

I am not sure either. Since this is my first DC, I am having a hard time estimating. I did 152 last weekend in 10.5 (total, 9.5 rolling time). But Solvang has a twice the elevation. I am guessing I will be in the 14-15 range.

Good luck for your first DB, Bryan! I will ride 300k (~200miles) the same day - Davis Brevet. :)

Thanks Julie. And good luck to you. If there hadn't been a conflict, I would have considered the 300km ride also.
