C52 - Rocklin Newcastle Loomis Loop

Come join Tracy and I as we start our early season distance riding to prepare for a few double centuries later this spring. The pace will be a realistic speed 16 to 20mph on the flat and your own pace up whatever hills are along the route. We'll plan two regroups at Trailhead and at The Flower Farm. Both stops will have food and bathrooms available.

Please note that the ride will not be swept, helmets are required yatta yatta yatta. Ride starts promptly at 9:30 if you are late you get to play catch up.
Rain, serious threat of hurricane like conditions and any winter storms with a first name will cancel ride.

Both Matthew and I ended up modifying our routes, but for different reasons. Mine was the usual can't keep up problem. Matthew suffered a blowout on the English Colony Road descent when his chain came off over a bump, locking up the rear wheel & destroying the tire. We ended up riding to Trailhead & visiting his mother, who fed us well ;) Climbed Whitney Blvd & Park Drive, which made up for the shortened route. I'm glad he didn't crash either. Poor Matthew has had the worst luck with bikes lately :( This incident is why my singlespeed shall remain a freewheel ;) I'm not putting a fixed gear on the other side of the hub.

Thanks for leading this ride. This was my fist time with this group and I enjoyed the ride. The holidays and lack of riding had me hurtin by the end, so I cut out at Del Mar, since my legs were slowin down, and I still had to climb up Park to get home. Looking forward to future rides and working up to the Centuries I signed up for this Spring.
