Good on the mtb, not so good on the roadie...but persistent. Long slow rides with long slow climbs. :)

Where did you hear about us?

What rides would you like to see on the calendar?

Long Intermediate paced rides (15-17 mph) are my cup-o-tea. I like to conquer hills but am not one to 'hammer' the duration of a ride.

What goals are you setting for yourself, if any?

I am more of a mtb'er, but there are such great roads out here it would be a shame not to ride them. I want to get in shape to ride centuries and/or at least make it up any hill I come across (You hear that Iowa Hill? One day you will be my B!#@%!!!).

What level biker are you?

I am Short, Old, Bald, and I have a gut, but my legs and lungs are o.k.. I would call myself an intermediate rider who is not afraid to tackle anything...I just won't be fast doing it.

You have read and you agree to the limitation of liability waiver found on www.hammerinwheels.com/pages/waiver . If you agree please answer "yes" or "I agree" below. If you answer "Ye" or anything else your membership will be denied. Thanks!

Yes, I agree.

What James is saying about this Meetup Group

I enjoy the number of rides posted and the variety of length and speeds to suit different levels (or for hard days and easy days in the saddle).

Hiya James! Thanks very much. I think all of the healthy living has helped me to speed up a bit. Well...that and a new slightly racier bike for this year. I'm having a ball racing in the sport category (fairly old guys). I'm not quite crazy enough to try out the single speed world just yet. One of these weekends I'm gonna ask to join you guys for an endurance ride.

Yeah, needed to get back to some *real* MTBing. You got a group together for Burn-24?

Whats up man? Sorry just now figured out how to pm you back on here. Never used the ole meetup system before. Looks like LCCP's night ride got cancelled for this week. Thought I was gonna have an excuse to bail on my work holiday dinner Wed. night. Oh well guess I'll have to go now.

Pure sweetness, James! Thanks...but I actually have a back up bike....don't know why I'm not motivated to use it. Anyway, I'm changing up the workouts this week so I can potentially make all of those 45 miles on Saturday. :-)

Hey James, have you heard any more info on the race at the reactor? Do you think there will be a re-ride? I've never been out to harris lake..

No shit. There oughta be a law, if your % of NO rsvp's is higher than 99% then you automatically are placed in the 'banned' section. Who makes the laws around here anyway?
