April Meetup

As usual, our format is to go around the table and let everyone talk about the projects they are working on, hopefully with some form of prototype to show. The great thing about this group is that we really get a chance to talk, show and get feedback in a casual supporting environment. If you don't have something to show please don't let that keep you from coming out.

Hope to see you there!

I've started setting the attendance cap to 10 people as that's about the max we can really handle at the Grind. This hasn't been an issue in the past - I think the most we have had out is around 8 people. Just want to be safe.

What a great meeting! Jason and I would like to say thank you to everyone who was there, and were being supportive with our project. I got to meet a lot of friendly people, and would love to meet you all again next month. My apologizes again for the miscommunication about the interviews.

I will have something ready for next month, so till then!

Hello everyone at Hardcore Indie! I am wondering if I can interview the people attending this Saturday's meeting. I am currently doing a term project for a high school class, and would to ask some questions on your experience, and what your project is about.

Please let me know ASAP whether if I can do that or not.

    Thanks!

Hey Hayden. The format of the group is basically to talk about our projects so you should be able to pick up something from that. Come out this time (whether you get on the list or not). You can just be an observer if we have a full 10 people and run out of time. You will have to ask everyone individually if they are OK with you writing about their work. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.

Blast I'd love to show you guys my life's work but I'm showing it off at a booth at the Vancouver Retro Gaming Expo. Is anyone going to that?

After moaning about not having a spot, then getting one, I am going to free up my spot so any new people can go (that and the fact I haven't done anything ;)

    April 2

  • Gavin T.

Have had to cancel, frees up a spot. Busy selling my car (to help pay for the new car)!

I've changed my rsvp to no to make room for others, since I don't really have any significant updates on my project to discuss.

The coffee place should be able to hold 14 people, no? I've seen a few book clubs in that space bigger than 10.

The issue is more "will we have time and space to go around the table" with that many people. We could probably break into two groups in the future but I want to test this out with 10 and see how managable that is.

Will be there to talk about more marketing experiences. Arrow Mania 2 is out on iOS and Amazon (22nd March just gone), I'll be telling stories about Facebook ads promo, PR releases, Kamcord, Putting people off with my crazy new control method (yes the one you didn't like Mike), etc....

Sounds cool. Didn't you say you were flying back from the UK that day though?

      March 26

    • Gavin T.

Nope, flying back 16th, the day of that dev party/meetup thing

Hi everyone! I'm new to this group. I just saw Mike Peredo's comment on the Full Indie board, and thought this looked really cool. Would love to join your next meetup and chat games. If any of you are attending Full Indie tonight, it would be nice to meet you. My partner, Tyler, and I will be trying to wrangle feedback for our game, Across the Table - Hockey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DXlq9TpLICk

    • Mike P.

I played the hockey game tonight at full indie, it was pretty fun! I almost beat the devs and won a beer.

    • Matt L.

Thanks Taylan! And thanks again Gavin and Mike for playing the game today.
