Scroll down for Hike Description. If you HAVE QUESTIONS about the hike, or you would like to meet at the trailhead instead of carpooling, please CONTACT THE LEADER DIRECTLY at the phone number or email below. This is important because the leader might not see a message you post here. Remember to ARRIVE EARLY at the carpool location. The time given is our DEPARTURE time. There are always more people on our hikes than are listed in the meetup RSVP. Please view the photo gallery to see what our hikes are like. We ask for a mere $10 per year in membership dues. There is no "per hike" fee. You are welcome to join us for free on your first hike. To pay the $10 Annual Dues, please visit our Website: http://haywardhikers.weebly.com . Click on "Join or Renew". Credit/Debit/Paypal is accepted, or check by mail. Thanks!

Hood Mountain Regional Park, Sonoma Co. Hood Mountain is just north of
Sugarloaf Ridge State Park. This hike in mostly wooded terrain will
climb, sometimes steeply, up to Gunsight Rock, elevation 2730 ft,
overlooking the Valley of the Moon and Sonoma Valley. On the return we
will pass through a pygmy forest of Sargent Cypress trees. 8.6 miles,
2700 ft elevation gain. Strenuous, trekking poles recommended. Trailhead
parking is at the end of Pythian Rd., eastward from Hwy 12.
(Rescheduled hike rained out 12/22)

Long steep trails. I barely made it the summit. Long steep downhill return.

    Hi Jim,
I did a Google maps and it said that the park was 82.3 miles and 1 hour and 39 minutes away in Santa Rosa (Mt. Hood Regional Park). Barbara
