Huckleberry Botanical Regional Preserve and Sibley Volcanic Reg.
Preserve. From the Huckleberry Staging Area (not the Sibley Staging Area)
on Skyline Blvd in Oakland, between Snake Rd and the southeast end of
Elverton Dr, we will hike 2 loops, the Huckleberry Path Loop and the
Round Top Loop Tr, joined by the Skyline Trail. Overall distance will be
6.2 miles. The trail starts at an elev. of 1250 ft, drops to 950 feet,
and rises to 1650 feet at its highest elev. Huckleberry Botanical
Preserve has a wealth of native coastal California plants. Sibley is best
known for the volcanic rock formations that are visible on the hike. The
Round Top Loop has spurs to several labyrinths which we will explore
depending on group interest. The hike will be mostly moderate with a few
strenuous sections. Travel time from Castro Valley HS to Huckleberry is
approx. 30 minutes.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
