Scroll down for Hike Description. If you HAVE QUESTIONS about the hike, or you would like to meet at the trailhead instead of carpooling, please CONTACT THE LEADER DIRECTLY at the phone number or email below. This is important because the leader might not see a message you post here. Remember to ARRIVE EARLY at the carpool location. The time given is our DEPARTURE time. There are always more people on our hikes than are listed in the meetup RSVP. Please view the photo gallery to see what our hikes are like. We ask for a mere $10 per year in membership dues. There is no "per hike" fee. You are welcome to join us for free on your first hike. To pay the $10 Annual Dues, please visit our Website: http://haywardhikers.weebly.com . Click on "Join or Renew". Credit/Debit/Paypal is accepted, or check by mail. Thanks!

Hi, does anyone know how long the hike will take? It seems that we have to spend the whole day..

The "leave by sunset" note pertains to the carpool meeting place parking lot. It closes at sunset. In the case of today's hike, it will be over in the afternoon, so there is no problem.

Thanks a lot for your reply. Unfortunately, I cannot make it this time. My boss just came back from a trip and we have to meet the clients on Sat. See you guys next time!

Here are further details from Mike:

We will leave from Weekes Park at 8:30 am and proceed to Don Edwards, in Newark, and park by the fishing pier. We will hike over the Dumbarton bridge and back. Then we will drive to the visitors center at Don Edwards and hike from there. The only real hill is the bridge. We will cover between 6-7 miles of easy to moderate hiking. There will be no cover so bring plenty of water and sunscreen. It will be very windy. There will be nice bay vistas and birds to see. Mike Evans

I think that just pertains to when the parking lot closes in case you were planning to leave your car there. But, I am not the one with the definitive answers to your questions. I suggest you contact the hike leader, Mike. His contact information is above. Thanks.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
