Scroll down for Hike Description. If you HAVE QUESTIONS about the hike, or you would like to meet at the trailhead instead of carpooling, please CONTACT THE LEADER DIRECTLY at the phone number or email below. This is important because the leader might not see a message you post here. Remember to ARRIVE EARLY at the carpool location. The time given is our DEPARTURE time. There are always more people on our hikes than are listed in the meetup RSVP. Please view the photo gallery to see what our hikes are like. We ask for a mere $10 per year in membership dues. There is no "per hike" fee. You are welcome to join us for free on your first hike. To pay the $10 Annual Dues, please visit our Website: http://haywardhikers.weebly.com . Click on "Join or Renew". Credit/Debit/Paypal is accepted, or check by mail. Thanks!

Las Trampas. This hike starts at the Staging Area, and it is about 5.5 to 6 miles; however I rate this hike as STRENUOUS with a lot steep uphills, downhills one after another, and steps. The trail starts at an elevation of 1200, and we'll reach Eagle Peak at 1720. The hike is a loop (Bollinger Creek, Corduroy, Madrone, Virgil, and Las Trampas Ridge trails) with 50% open space and 50% shaded. Views are great. FYI, when we (Peggy) scouted the hike, it took us almost 5 hours to finish this hike.
Bring plenty water, hiking poles are a must, hat and sun screen. If you like to challenge yourself, join me.
