Announcing the official HBase User Group for the 0.20 release! This meetup is being sponsored and hosted by StumbleUpon and will be kicking off a full weekend of HBase hacking.
This user group will be focused on the all-new 0.20 version of HBase. We will be covering topics such as:
All are welcome to the HUG! This will be user-focused so no previous experience with HBase development is required.
The meetup should last a few hours. Afterward many of us will head to a local pub for drinks and NoSQL musings.
On Saturday August 8th and Sunday August 9th, StumbleUpon will also be hosting the second HBase Hackathon. This will be focused on planning (and hacking) for the 0.21 release and is primarily for committers and contributors but all are welcome.
Here is provisional list of 0.21 features: http://wiki.apache.org/hadoop/HBase/RoadMaps![]()
Lets discuss.
Hi all, here is the current lineup for the user group meeting:
- HBase 0.20, what is in it?
- HBase 0.21, what is upcoming, what can you do to help?
- HBase and deployment
- Analytics
If you would like to present, please send me your slides for consideration.
Really looking forward to hearing about .20 and also tips on deploying it on Amazon and other Cloud infrastructures.
We are also looking for someone to help us with some short term consulting on deployment.
