Career Development Workshop #1

Join career development specialist Cliff Mintz, PhD owner of BioInsights, Inc. (www.bioinsights.com), a training and career development company for persons seeking jobs and career opportunities in the healthcare and life sciences industry. Cliff is also the author of career blog, BioJobBlog (www.biojobsblog.com) which offers ideas, commentary and career development strategies for life sciences and healthcare industry job seekers.  In addition to our formal training courses, we also offer outplacement, career transition services, resume development, and job placement services.

In the first of three seminars in the series, Dr. Mintz will cover the following topics in an interactive session:

The Art of Resume Writing for Healthcare and Life Sciences
This seminar is designed to introduce participants to the art of resume writing.
Learn how to write a resume that quickly, clearly and concisely allows a prospective employer to determine that you may be the right candidate for the job. Hands-on, real life examples of how to prepare and craft a winning resume are provided.

Networking: It’s Not What You Know But Who You Know!
Networking is an essential part of any job search. Unfortunately, scientists are notoriously poor when it comes to networking to make connections or contacts to facilitate a job search or advance a career. This seminar provides tips and ideas that
scientists can use to become better networkers, whether online or in real life!

Space is limited and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Clifford, thanks for offering this event. But I am not a researcher. I have a background in healthcare operations. Would this be an event relevant to me?

Hi Adam, Thanks for the note. A well written and carefully crafted resume or curriculum vitae is a necessary first step in today's highly competitive healthcare and life sciences industry. That said, most job seekers, researchers or otherwise typically do not how to structure a resume/CV to bring out their strengths or qualifications to get to the interview stage. The goal of the first workshop is to review resume writing and how to maximize the likelihood of taking your job search to the next level.
