What area(s) of healthcare do you have experience in?

Clinical quality improvement, Minnesota Community Measures, Physician Quality Reporting System, creating, standardizing and implementing referral/orders processes in community clinics, specialty clinics, primary clinics and hospitals. Lean projects, streamlining clinic workflow with providers and medical staff. Involved in certification of health care homes in clinics. Work closely with ehr/epic analysts to create and implement standard reports and change interface to provide transparency for medical staff to promote coordination of care. Primary care, specialty care and community healthcare. I have also worked as a tissue recovery specialist for LifeSource and recovered bones, veins, muscles and tendons from donor patients throughout the midwest for transplant patients.

Anything medical is exciting. Leveraging technology to help our patients receive optimal and continuous care.

In your opinion, what is the biggest healthcare challenge?

Maximizing on available resources such as epic/electronic health records to ensure an efficient and effective process in providing optimal care for the patient while encompassing best practices. Having worked in a community clinic for many years, two important challenges I'm passionate about are making healthcare affordable and accessible to ALL patients!

What are you working on?

Reporting to Minnesota Community Measurements, reducing readmission for both liver failure and heart failure patients and engaging and educating physicians on importance of physician quality reporting. Standardizing the advanced care planning initiative throughout the hospital, clinics and specialty clinics. Endless work with Epic analysts and reporting team.
