Meeting on Other Nights
Thursday, March 4, 2010 10:12 PM
The idea of meeting on other nights is not new and I'm not actively opposed to it. I just don't have time to organize it. Tuesdays are what I have. However, to accomodate the group I'll re-publish the offer I made last May (see below). I'll even go it one better because last year our old home only had Monday & Tuesday available for our use, I'm fairly certain our new home, the Italiani, can accomodate us on most nights.
So, if YOU want to organize and YOU are willing to host a card night let me know where and when and if the conditions seem agreeable I'll post it on the site for RSVP's. I will help you arrange a time at the Italiani if you would like me to.
The whole point of this group is to bring people together to have a friendly gathering. If you want to promote that idea, and are willing to put your energy towards, I'll try to help.
See you when, Pat
I'm publishing below and offer I made in May of last year
From time-to-time members contact me about holding gatherings on other days or places.
Time is limited and since I have to coordinate these things, for me and a sizeable number of others, our current arrangement seems to work well.
However, the Meetup network has proven a wonderful mechanisim for bringing people together and I am an enthusiastic supporter of the concept. I recognize that every other Tuesday night will not work for everyone so in an effort to accomodate those for whom it is inconvenient I'm going to propose this experiment.
If you have a different time and place your would like to offer to this group send me the information. Inplicit in your submission is that YOU will act as host for the event. It must be in a public location, not your home. You will need to provide me your contact information including a phone number. If it doesn't conflict with what the group is scheduling, I'll put it on the site and let people sign up making YOU the contact for the evening -- or other time of day.
We'll do this on an experimental basis for a time and I'll process feedback to see if things are going satisfactorily. This may help those of you who find Tuesdays inconvenient but still want to play cards.
Let me hear from you.
See you when,
