Waitlists are automatically enabled for Meetup events that have a set attendee limit. To set a limit and activate a Waitlist for your event:
  • Click on the upcoming event you want to edit
  • Click the 'Edit' link
  • On the next page, scroll down to the 'RSVP Settings' section
  • Choose 'Limited to X attendees' to enable the attendee limit 
  • Save your changes by clicking ‘Change details’ at the bottom of the page

If the Meetup becomes full, a Waitlist will automatically be enabled for members to join. The Waitlist will automatically add people to the Meetup in the order in which they joined.

Meetups that require payment in order to RSVP do not have Waitlists available. This is to avoid automatically charging members' credit cards. Organizers can let members know that a spot has become available by using the ‘Email Members’ tool.

If a member has RSVPed with guests, they will be skipped on the Waitlist until enough spots open up for both the member and their guests.
