Early Taoism & Concepts of the Tao te Ching

Senior Students Kevin & Stacy Vanderveer present…
Early Taoism & Concepts of the Tao te Ching

Taoism teaches us to flow with breath. It is also a practice that encourages living in harmony with one's own true nature.

In the teachings of the Tao te Ching, the Tao is discovered differently by each person. This can seem hard to understand if we are used to well-defined definitions in life. However, during one breath, each moment of life can become viable and changeable.

Taoism is acceptance of all things.
Taoism is following the breath to find peace.
Taoism is opening up to wisdom to enable possibility.

The complete history of Taoism cannot be traced through written records. It is a practice of change, and so, it always changes to meet the needs of the times. This is still happening today, and even as we speak, Taoism is evolving.

Join us to discuss these timeless topics and any other topics or questions you may have.

    Hi Christine & Paul,

I'm glad to see you are going to attend the open house on Saturday morning! Stacy & Kevin will be leading the talk with some sitting or walking meditation as well. We have publicized this event with flyers and news listings as well so there should be quite a few people. If you're plans have changed for any reason, please update your rsvp. Otherwise, were looking forward to meeting you!

The directions are below on this event page but here is link with the address and map link just in case...

Shoes are not worn in the practice space but socks are fine. Also, the SunDo Healing Arts Center also offers Taoist yoga instruction so if you are interested, please inquire. Lastly, it would be good to arrive 5-10 minutes early just to make sure you find the building which is tricky to locate. And to put things away and get settled for the talk or meditation which begins promptly at 9:30 am.

The SunDo-Taoist Center is located at 45 South Main Street, West Hartford 06107 across from the Town Hall ( a large brick building with columns) and next to a small Dunkin Donuts. Our building is a beige-colored three-story building with evergreen bushes planted on a ledge around the first floor. There is an green oval sign with a gold # 45 at the front of the parking lot.

The building itself is at the back of the parking lot. Even though the parking spaces have assigned names, it is OK to park in any space on weekends or after 6 pm. After entering through the front doors, go down the stairs and follow the signs to suite 90. If you have any trouble locating us, please call the center number at[masked]
