Statistics in the Media - Kevin McConway - Wednesday 24th April, 8pm.

From: Neil D.
Sent on: Sunday, April 21, 2013 8:50 PM

Hello to all Skeptics and members of the Wycombe Skeptics in the Pub MeetUp group,

I would not normally send out a message randomly like this, but I wanted to make sure that you had heard about our exciting event this Wednesday.

Kevin McConway will be visiting us to talk about taking a skeptical view of Statistics in the Media. if you are involved in research, the media, statistics or are just curious about the stats used in the news stories you read then this promises to be an essential talk to attend.

It is totally free to attend, and will take place in our regular meeting place, the excellent Bootlegger pub on Amersham Hill in High Wycombe.

You can find out more about the event at the MeetUp page, http://www.meetup.com/high-wycombe-skeptics/events/103339452/

or on our website, http://wycombe.skepticsinthepub.org/Event.aspx/1464/Statistics-in-the-Media

or if you prefer our Facebook event. http://www.facebook.com/events/497128433656026/

Whether you are a regular with us, or have never attended before then it would be great to see you at this event, and keep an eye out for our future talks on the MeetUp site too!
