Windows to Nowhere, New Artwork by: MIYA BAILEY & COREY DAVIS

Since our Wednesday and Thursday events have been postponed/rescheduled due to the ice storm, here is an event Friday night.

No Valentines eve plans, here is a cool art opening at the Erickson Clock, the Goat Farm event center in Castleberry Hill.

Opening Reception: Friday, February 14th From 7pm - 11pm with Sounds by DJ Genesis During the Castleberry Hill 2nd Friday Art Stroll

Nelson Street Gallery is located at Erikson Clock (a Goat Farm Satellite) 364 Nelson St SW

WINDOWS TO NOWHERE on view from: February 14th - March 1st.

MIYA BAILEY: “Creating art is just a nature instinct I have. It's as natural as breathing to me. Art is like a window into my mind and imagination. My inspiration comes from crossing paths with other human beings, sharing stories and learning each other’s history. My goal in making art is to share my story and present it to the world, to leave behind a legacy, to make my children proud of me. For this series of paintings, I turned off the TV, no music, no one around me. Just me, my thoughts, and the sounds outside. It was peace.”

COREY DAVIS: “To put things simply, if I wasn't making art I would probably go crazy. I've been drawing longer than I can remember and painting has always filled me with a sense of accomplishment and importance. Expressing my affection for the idea of beauty and popular culture has always been important for me as an artist, portraying modern culture in the most visually appealing way possible. I grew up watching a lot of cartoons and playing video games my whole life, which still holds a large influence on my style today. Within my art I use a lot of clean lines and bold colors which results in the vivid, stylized portraits I enjoy creating most.”

This is also the monthly Art Walk in Castleberry Hill.
