About The High Point K9 Club (West Seattle)

Welcome to The High Point K9 Club. This group was launched to gather together new neighbors to lobby for an off-leash area in the redeveloped High Point neighborhood in West Seattle.

A majority of the residents and dog owners moved to the neighborhood in late 2006 - mid 2007. In February of 2009 the community was given the go-ahead to create an off-leash play area for dogs at Sylvan Way SW, High Point Drive and SW Holly Street. On the development plans it is referred to as Block 31 "Triangle Park".

All dog owners and lovers in and around High Point are welcome to join this group.

K9 Club Meetup Guidelines

• Canines must be social, friendly, non-aggressive, licensed and on a leash at all times in accordance with Seattle law requirements. You will be asked to leave the meetup area or event if behaviorial issues are noted in regards to your dog.
  
• Dogs must be up-to-date on all shots. Use caution when exposing a puppy to the outdoors and other dogs if they have not completed their immunizations.
  
• No ill dogs or female dogs in heat. If your dog shows signs of illness, please consult your veterinarian before attending a meetup.
  
• Don't allow head-on greets between dogs, as the dogs can feel cornered and may lash out aggressively as a result. Put yourself between your dog and a strange dog until you can ascertain your dogs temperment and feeling about the situation.
  
• Smile and be friendly! Enjoy yourself, and enjoy meeting your neighbors who love their dogs as much as you love yours!
