Soldiers Delight – both sides

A short, close to home hike for the weekend, that leaves time for other activities later in the day. That, and this is one ofmy favorite local parks. (We will meet AT the visitor's cennter parking lot. The Hike: This hike is an easy hike just under6 miles. We will hike the both sides of the park (east and west)

As long as Fido is leashed/well behaved, yes, this hike is pet friendly.

Directions: From I-695 take I-795N via exit 19 toward Owings Mills/Reisterstown. Take exit 7B on Franklin Blvd. west. Turn right on Church Road, left on Berrysman Lane, then left on Deer Park Road. We'll meet in the parking area outside the visitors' center. Look for a) a silver/grey Mazda6 with yak racks, and b) pair of overexcited dogs. Cell is[masked] My best guess is that the address here is 5100 Deer Park Road Owings Mills Md. . Lunch after is always an option.

I would love to do this one. Thanks for plenty of notice so I can ask time off work! Does anyone ever bring children? My grandson is 13. I guess I really need to be with adults more. Let me know, please.

Kate, I was looking to get out more myself, but I do like to include my sons. They can do 2 miles easily (ages 9 & 5). I plan on doing part of this hike w/my boys.

I don't know if I can make the whole hike if I bring my "littles" along (boys) but we'll definetly do a chunk of it. I've been wanting to check this park/trail out myself.
