The snow is down to 4"-5" on North Fork Mountain (with 50 degree temps forecast for this weekend) so it's time to get back up there and enjoy some of the finest Vistas in the East! Doubt me do you? Check out the picture of the Ridge you will be walking on! This picture is from the January 22-24, 2010 trip so what you see is what you get! We will be finishing our Northern Section Trip from last time, so let's dust off those backpacks, pack our gear and saddle up for a one of a kind adventure, again! This is the real deal, so you must contact me before you can go as I must be sure you are physically able to do this trip and prepared with proper equipment. You will be going into an area of incredible beauty, but if unprepared, incredible danger, which is why I must check for your and the groups sake. We will arrive at the trail head (Redman Run Trail) by 11:30 PM and camp by the cars. In the morning we will walk 1000' up the mountain then 5 miles along the ridge top to our campsite where we will enjoy a great campfire and stunning views! On Sunday we will have a 2 mile walk down the mountain to the top of Seneca Rocks, which is a destination by itself, then a mile walk down to the car from there. We will be cooking together if you wish, to reduce the load on everyone. Please check the January 22, 2010 trip for all the links and maps. If we have enough people from the Baltimore area sign up we will do a carpool from that area as well as the one from Centreville, VA, so give me a call at [masked]. This is a fabulous trip and one I hope everyone gets to do before they die, so let's do it!
