Many of us have purchased a handheld GPS receiver only to be overwhelmed by its complexity. I will discuss how to use a GPS device to get where you need and want to go whether it be to a remote mountain peak, an interesting place in the local park or simply navigating to the store down the street. Learn how to use aerial imagery found on the Internet to identify places to visit, mark them on the map and transfer those placemarks to your device so one may set out for a successful walk in the woods or trip down the road.
This event will be of interest to anyone with any brand of GPS or is thinking about getting one, and those that enjoy exploring the outdoors. Feel free to bring your GPS receiver and meet others who share your passions.
If you can't make this event I will be speaking at the Central Branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library on August 4th at the Poe Room.
