This is the first event in our now classic Training Hike Series. This one is up Cedar Run, then further up to the highest point in Shenandoah National Park at Hawksbill, then down White Oak Canyon. If some of you want more, next training hike in December will add Old Rag to this circuit. The leadership reserves the right to cut off a section or 2 for your safety if you can't keep up. This hike will be around 11 miles and 3235' elevation gain. Dinner is at the Griffin Tavern afterwards. This event is cross-posted with the Washington Backpacker's Meetup Group and is not a social hike as it is done at speed, yet fun and is the first in about 8 to 9 hikes through the winter and into next Spring to get you ready for the most beautiful hike series in the East! So come one come all and get yourself into shape for our Extreme Hike Series next year for the Great Range Traverse (across the Adirondack High Peaks in NY), Presidential Traverse (across the White Mountain in NH), Pemi Loop in NH, and one or 2 others with a super secret new bonus trip that will blow you away!
