Want to have a relaxing time before the hectic Fourth of July weekend? What better way than to spend it floating down a river, enjoying the sun? On Saturday, June 27th, we will meet at Buttes Whitewater in Purcellville at 9:30am. This will allow plenty of time to park, greet each other and have everything ready before the shop opens at 10am. The first bus leaves at around 1030 so we will want to be ready for it and try to get everyone on the river as soon as possible, in order to get as many runs in as we can. Tube rental usually lasts for about 3 hours at a time so we can enjoy the river until 1pm and afterwards decide what everyone would like to do.
While I intened to play it by ear, with the weather determining what may be the best option, particpants can decide from renting the tube again, grabbing some lunch/sightsee in Harper?s Ferry or go for a hike along one of the many trails in the area.
Pay attention for updates and I will open a spot on the message board for those who may need or is offering a ride. Severe weather will postpone this event to another day but overcast/cloudy skies will not.
Check out prices here: http://www.btiwhitewater.com/pricing/
but I highly recommend the $30 tube option.
I will be seeking a dollar or two from each particpant in order to help the two groups (The Baltimore Hiking Meetup Group and DC Metropolitan Hikers) with their meetup websites so please give.
Also, let me know if you may be interested in an early morning hike prior to meeting at 9:30am. See everyone there!
