Announcing a new meeting for The Baltimore Hiking Meetup Group!

What: Eden Mill Park & Falling Branch area of Rocks State Park

Who should come: All You Folks who are looking to Commune with Nature in the early Spring...come on out!

Why: This is going to give you the opportunity to hike along Deer Creek, and then go for another hike where you Get to see the Second Highest falls in the state of Maryland, Kilgore Falls....Nature's beginning to come out of its Winter sleep....so am I:)

Meeting Description: Directions: Get off of I95 at exit 77B which is Rte 24North. Take Rte 24 North up to Rocks State Park...When you see sign s for the Park's Ranger Station, you'll know you're about 5 miles from our meeting place...stay on 24N..cross a little tressle bridge; when you get to a circle take it 3/4 of the way around and get off on Rte 165West/Federal Hill Rd, you will make your Second Right onto Fawn Grove Road ...Eden Mill Park & Nature Center Parking lot will be on the left.

Eden Mill Park: we'll being doing an Out & Back Hike with a big loop...mostly easy...some inclines...about 4 miles...may be muddy...please wear proper foot gear......we''ll start off on the Mill Trail, get onto Beaver Run Trail, head across the back via the Cedar Run trail, come down the other side of the loop by the High Meadow Trail, and return to the parking lot by the Mill trail.....

Falling Branch Area: From Fawn Grove Rd we will take a Left on Red Bridge RD (in Cars)...we'll take our First Left off of Red Bridge Rd onto Falling Branch Road.../THIS IS A DIRT & ROCK ROAD....follow Falling Branch Rd around to a Parking lot on the LEFT (maybe a mile)...We'll recongregate and Take the trail

Falling Branch is an Out & Back with a Spur.....it's easy and 1.1 miles....it can be muddy...to see Kilgore Falls it's 15 minutes, and 30 minutes adding the extension....you do cross water to see the falls...TheyRe Beautiful!!
