Hello Everyone!!

This September, I am participating in the Big City Mountaineers'
Summit for Someone Climb. It is a benefit climb series supporting Big
City Mountaineers (BCM), a 501(c)(3) non-profit. The mission of BCM is
to provide urban, at-risk teens, in need of positive adult mentoring,
with challenging and safe wilderness experiences led by qualified
adult volunteer guides.

I have to say that having the chance to do something I love with the
remarkable benefit of supporting a program that enriches the lives of
inner city youth is a rare and worthwhile opportunity. There is
nothing like experiencing the power of nature; it makes you feel like
the world is a place of unlimited possibilities...if you just keep
putting one foot in front of the other.

The climbs will cover 24 U.S. peaks during 94 different events,
reaching a total of 9.8 million vertical feet. I will be climbing Mt.
Rainier in Washington. This challenge will test me physically and
mentally. The journey will take me 3 days and 2 nights and I will
train for months beforehand to prepare for the climb. I have
experience hiking, backpacking and rock climbing, but I have never
mountaineered before and can't wait to get started!

I am required to raise a minimum of $3,800 in order to be able to
participate, and that's where you come in! Any amount you can give will be greatly appreciated.
Your donation is tax deductible and will benefit the lives of teens
across the country. The deadline for my fundraising efforts is mid-August!

You can donate either online to my personal page on the Big City
Mountaineers' site or by mail.

Thank you in advance for supporting me in this incredible journey. I
thank you on behalf of myself and those who will benefit from your
generosity - the teens who otherwise wouldn't believe that they had
the ability to ascend to great heights in life.
