Over the River & Through the Woods: Rancho Cordova

Bring water and wear layers. Flashlights, too! If there's a chance of rain, come prepared (I'll cancel if it's pouring.) Good boots or trail shoes recommended. Also, there are star-thistles and brambles out there.

We leave at 6:10 sharp. If you're running late, okay to call:[masked] Susan

Dogs okay on leash.

There are restrooms open before dark at two points along our way, as well as drinking fountains.

It's a beautiful hike, mostly trails and dirt paths, but partially on the paved bike path. It's fairly fast-paced, starting from Hagan Park, along the river through River Bend Park, across the bridge to William Pond Park and beyond before turning around and coming back a slightly different route. There are snakes and brambles, roots and rocks, bugs and fairly quick walkers. No complaining; you have been forewarned.

Park at the Community Center lot on Chase Drive, just past the high school, but just BEFORE entering the park gate, on the right.

I almost made it! Finally figured out where I was supposed to be, but by then it was to late. I was bummed, was looking forward it. Going to try again next week! I am hoping to do the Chico Wildflower hike this weekend which should make up for missing this evenings hike!

Phone died as well! I was looking forward to hiking and meeting everyone. Was out of town and had the "no-phone" problem. :(

Bad news: I have to work late tonight, so can't lead. If Roger is there, please ask him to step in; otherwise, find and follow the bike path as far as you like; just watch out for bikes! If I can make it, never mind but otherwise I am SO so sorry! (Not usually a flake!)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
