Knock knock. Who's there? Hike. Hike who?
Hiking up the hill.
Looking forward to the moon.
Later, she will guide.
Hike from the American River confluence to American River Pizza in Cool.
We'll hike up Training Hill (.9 miles of strenuous ascent on rocks and dirt), continue to Cool via the Olmstead Loop. We'll stay at American River Pizza about 1.5-2 hours. Return on the Wendell T. Robie trail back to the confluence. This is a loop hike. We will not go back down the hill.
Please don't make this your first hike.
Singing while hiking is encouraged! It helps keep the critters at bay.
To the first person who sings "Moondance" in its entirety, I will buy a beer (or another drink).
Suggested items to bring: Bug repellent; headlamp or flashlight (pointed down, please), but we prefer to use straight moonlight as much as possible; lots of water.
Wear good hiking boots and comfortable clothes. Poles are recommended.
Dogs okay, if you don't mind tying them up outside the pizza place. All other rules for dogs apply.
