Bring water and wear layers. Winter, fall and spring, we hike in the dark, so bring flashlights, too! If there's a chance of rain, come prepared (I'll cancel if it's pouring.) Good boots or trail shoes recommended.
We leave at 6:10 sharp. If you're running late, okay to call: [masked] Susan
Dogs okay on leash.
There are restrooms open before dark at two points along our way, as well as drinking fountains.
It's a beautiful hike, mostly trails and dirt paths, but partially on the paved bike path. It's fairly fast-paced, starting from Hagan Park, along the river through River Bend Park, across the bridge to William Pond Park and beyond before turning around and coming back a slightly different route. There are snakes and brambles, roots and rocks, bugs and fairly fast walkers. No complaining; you have been forewarned. (We pause after the first half-hour, so if you find yourself falling behind, just speak up and we'll talk about possibilities.)
Park at the Community Center lot on Chase Drive, just past the high school, but just BEFORE entering the park gate, on the right.
