Walking the Camino - Documentary Movie

Walking the Camino embarks on a journey with six strangers from around the world as they attempt to cross an entire country on foot - with only a backpack, a pair of boots and an open mind. Driven by an inexplicable calling and a grand sense of adventure, each pilgrim throws themselves heart-and-soul into their physical trek to Santiago and, most importantly, their personal journey to themselves. Called “A brilliant documentary” by Martin Sheen, this multiple award-winning film has been selling out screenings worldwide.

Walking the Camino held it’s world premiere at the Ashland Independent Film Festival in April 2013.

We will view this documentary film at the Varsity Theater in Davis. After the film, we may go to a local casual restaurant for a bite to eat and to discuss the film and talk about our hiking adventures.

Meet in the Theater lobby between 6:20 and 6:30PM. The film starts at 6:40PM. The film is about 90 minutes long.

Tickets are $10.50 cash. For seniors (60+) the price is $8.00 cash.

We went to see this film last week when I heard it was coming. I have always been interested indoing this "hike" and if there are others out there of like mind- I am ready to start planning. Another excellent movie with the same background- the Camino de Santiago - is called The Way- with Martin Sheen- really excellent story. Netflix and HULU have it.
Hey Richard C- you cat looks just like my "Leo" kitty!

Thanks for posting this, Richard. I probably will grab a fish taco at Fish's Wild (516 2nd St.) before the film. Anyone wanting to join me, I'll be there about 5:15. Although I would love to, I can't stay after the film for the discussion. Well, maybe for a few minutes!

Would love to see this but can't make it down from Nevada City after work in time. Let me know if you decide to do another screening a little further east!
    Cheers!

If you are driving to Davis, allow some extra time to find parking. Parking can be difficult to find in the downtown area.
